2025 Christmas Tree Hunting Tradition Continues

Christmas Traditions

November 29, 2025

The 2025 Christmas Tree Hunting season is officially complete for our family, and with it comes another year of memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime.

While most people were lining up for Black Friday deals the day after Thanksgiving, our family was loading up and heading into the hills, continuing a tradition that has become one of our favorites. Each year, we set out to find the perfect Christmas tree for my father-in-law’s home, but the trip always becomes about so much more than the tree itself.

As we drove through the winding roads, taking in the quiet beauty of the hills, my son filled the ride with his imaginative questions, wanting to know why it wasn’t snowing yet and whether Bigfoot might be hiding somewhere among the trees waiting to find us. The joys of a little one’s imagination make these moments all the more special and remind us why this tradition means so much.

After wandering through the forest and finally choosing the perfect tree, we enjoyed our traditional trail-side snack: summer sausage, cheese, and crackers, just enough to tide us over before heading back to town for a much-anticipated family lunch. It’s these simple, shared moments that make the day unforgettable each year.

And although the hills didn’t gift us any snow during our hunt, my son still got his wish. Later that night, snowflakes finally fell, bringing the perfect ending to another successful Christmas Tree Hunting adventure.

When we made it home, the festivities continued. I had purchased a small 4-foot Christmas tree just for my little ones to decorate and enjoy. We put it up together, hanging tiny ornaments and lights at their height, everything designed just for them. Once we finished, my son looked at the tree and asked, “Where are the gifts?”

I told him we would have to wait until Christmas, and with absolute confidence he replied, “Santa will come.” Moments like that remind me exactly why I love the spirit of Christmas so much—the wonder, the excitement, and the pure joy shining through a child’s eyes.

Another year, another tree, and another set of memories added to our family’s story. Here’s to traditions that warm our hearts, even on cold winter days.
